There have not been many positives over the last few months, but one thing we have seen, is how quickly the natural world can rally when human activity ceases. Of course there are many who cannot survive like this, but we only need to make some changes in our daily lives to make a difference.
“There are many steps that can be taken to reduce the effects of global warming. The most important would be utilizing clean energy over the burning of fossil fuels. The development of clean energy including solar, wind and geothermal energy, has the potential to greatly reduce the amount of pollutants that are released into the atmosphere. Even taking little steps as simple as carpooling or walking, purchasing vehicles with low emission, lowering the thermostat, purchasing energy-efficient lightbulbs, or turning off and unplugging electrical devices can contribute to reducing our carbon footprint.“ @Wonderworks_orl and National Geographic
Our lives are built on the consumption of fossil fuels and I am no different. I’ve been looking into what we can do to reduce waste and make our lives more green. Thanks to All Good Things Of Wickham and shopping at our local farm shop we have massively reduced our plastic waste and use of chemicals in the kitchen and the bathroom.
Things like driving and travelling for work, heating my home and workplace still bother me. I recently discovered that if you pay for your fuel using the Shell ap, you are driving carbon neutral, which is a good step. Some have cast aspersions on this so needs more research. I’ve also been looking into carbon offset programs since last we flew. Achieving carbon neutral travel would be a good step forward for us this year, but I’d like to do more.
I’m currently looking into solar panels and chargers, and if I can get some kind of Dynamo for my spinning bike. No idea what I’m doing at this point with that, but I’m exploring it!
