Just a flying visit this time, but I do love Spain. I travel there occasionally for a professional singers retreat that I love. We always learn a bit of gospel to sing and have a great couple of days together.
We arrived late this time to our hotel; a lovely little haven about 5 minutes walk from the beach. Out of high season this part of southern Spain, just outside Marbella, is a quiet, peaceful place most of the time. There’s a lovely promenade along the beach which makes a very pleasant walk. I hear the crowds are hellish however during July and August.
On the first night, my fellow retreaters and I enjoyed dinner on the beach. Paella in every way you can imagine, incredible sea food – all wasted on me of course being vegetarian, with vegan tendencies. I enjoyed a wonderful fresh salad and incredible white wine, with my feet in the sand and wonderful people around me.
Travel always stimulates my creativity. I love the colours and the sounds. And I especially love singing gospel in Spain.
I’m sure we’ll be back for more singing goodness at some point. San Pedro is a beautiful place to visit out of season if you want lovely weather, peaceful walks on the beach and amazing seafood.
