Over the Arctic Circle

So in my promise to write more about my travels, here I am again. I am on a work related trip to LA again, so will have fewer pretty pictures of sight seeing to share with you this time, but there’s always something magical if you look for it.

The pilot happened to mention that we were flying over the Arctic Circle in this particularly northern flight path this time, which I thought was pretty exciting. Now I don’t know if I’ve done this before or not to be completely honest, but I certainly have not been aware of it.

I managed to capture a glimpse of the sunset – could have been the sunrise, or just the sun, as I believe at certain times of year the sun doesn’t completely set or rise in that part of the world – and I don’t mind saying it took my breath away. Absolutely stunning.

Of course the photo doesn’t do it justice. Every now and then I’m reminded how small we are and how precious our world is.
