I’ve had a great time catching up with friends recently. We’ve been so busy for so long that I think we’re all wanting to reconnect.
It has reminded me of my very happy years at university in Cardiff. I’m very much looking forward to our jaunt to South Wales next spring.
When we had some free time, my friends and I used to get the bus out of the city up to CastellCoch (The Red Castle I believe – never was good a Welsh!) which we affectionately called The Fairytale Castle. Just being there was like walking around in a fantasy. (I’m really hoping that at some point we’ll have a movie to film here – it’s such a gorgeous, magical location).
It is possible to get married there and have events and so on, but really I’m hoping for a script with amazing costumes and the odd CGI dragon.
One of our favourite things to do was to go into the room with the amazing ceiling, decorated like the starry sky. Deep velvet blue and bright white stars, your could stare up endlessly. It is just so beautiful. When we had a bit of time, we would lie on the floor with our heads together like the Beatles and just stare quietly upwards. (Really saves a huge crick in the neck.) I’d really recommend it if you’re ever in the area, it’s a wonderful pastime!
Cant wait to be back in Wales 🏴
