A few hours of daylight grace the curve of the bay
The stark rugged beauty a vision of what was
Deep ocean silently lies on the shore
Enveloping whale song and archaic secrets
Short sunbeams retreat and give way to the stars
And we wait
The lights of the north will come soon they said
We stare at the sky expectant
And wait for the majesty, legend has told us, to bolt across the darkness
Unlike lightening, the warming was slow
The thrill gently builds with the emerald glow
Gentle green mist starts to ebb and to flow
And blow like a scarf in the wind.
We stood silent in its presence, peaceful and calm
Breathing the majesty of mother nature’s sensation
Between the snow capped mountains, the worn ice packed ground, and the still dark depths of the ice cold sea.
The magnetic magic does a dance of retreat
We catch our breath
