I sing pretty much most of the time. That’s no secret. I enjoy it, I feel alive, it makes me who I am.
I finished work before Christmas this year on the Wednesday, with a rare week or so off to spend time with my family, with the studio closed. Sadly on the Thursday I went to a funeral, and found myself singing. Saturday on Christmas Eve, I went to midnight mass with my mum, and found myself singing. And found myself thinking, why do we sing? I’m not the first to ask this question I’m sure, and I have this conversation with people I sing with all the time. We sing in our everyday lives all the time. We sing to mourne, we sing to celebrate, we sing to engage, we sing to communicate.
There’s something about it that makes us human..
Do you sing in everyday life? Why do you sing? How does is make you feel?
